Sarnia Sting News Release
The Sarnia Sting will close out the 2014-15 Regular Season this weekend; playing 3 games in as many nights.
With the post-season looming, it's likely that the Sarnia Sting will see Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters in Round 1 action of the 2015 Playoffs. For this to be the case, one of two things must happen this weekend in Ontario Hockey League action. If the Sting earn 1 of a possible 6 points this weekend OR if the Saginaw Spirit drop 1 point, (games against London & Kitchener) the Sting will finish 7th in the Western Conference Standings and face the Otters in the first round. If neither happen this weekend, the Sting will be matched up against former Sting defenceman, Anthony DeAngelo and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the opening round.
The Sting play host to divisional rivals, the Windsor Spitfires on Friday night at the RBC Centre in the Annual Fan Appreciation game, presented by CHOK radio. In this, the final regular season home game, overagers Taylor Dupuis, Josh Chapman and Stephen Pierog will be honoured during a pre-game ceremony in which they are presented with their jerseys at Centre ice.
Additionally, as part of Fan Appreciation night, fans in attendance will be given an opportunity to win some great prizes throughout the game, courtesy of the Sting's generous corporate partners.
On Saturday, the Sting will travel to Owen Sound to take on the Attack for the last time this season. The Sting currently hold a 2-1 advantage in the season series and will be looking to rally back from a tough loss to their counterparts on February 20th.
Then, on Sunday afternoon, the Sting close out the 2014-15 Regular Season in Guelph against the reigning OHL Champions. The Sting have been victorious in 2 of 3 matchups between the two clubs this season, including a 5-2 win over the Storm at the RBC Centre on March 8th.
