Keeping It Clean:

The Jacks are the only team in the South Division to have not been swept and shut out. El Paso has been shut out the most times out of any team from the South (3). The last time the Jacks had a 3-in-3 series was their home-opening weekend. They went 1-1-0-1 against Lone Star during that weekend. The Rhinos are currently on a three-game losing streak (0-2-1). Their only goals during their last three games came this past Saturday in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Wranglers.

Shorty:

Odessa entered last weekend with four short-handed goals. They finished the weekend with eight. Putting them atop the league in that category. The penalty kill for the Jacks is at 82.1% which ranks them 16th overall. Odessa has been shorthanded 78 times this season and has given up 14 goals. El Paso has the fifth-best penalty kill at 86.6%. They do not have a short-handed goal. The Rhinos have been shorthanded 83 times and have given up 11 power-play-goals. Chris Duclair and Trevor Taulien each have three short-handed goals.

Between The Pipes:

The Jacks are riding a three-game win streak and Alex Proctor has played all of them (4GA). Proctor is currently tied for second in wins among NAHL goalies (12). He is ranked fourth overall with a 2.25 goals-against-average (GAA). His save percentage of .929% puts him in a tie for third in the NAHL. The Rhinos goalie, Lassi Lehti, is 14th overall with a 2.72 GAA and is tied for ninth in save percentage (.921%). Lehti has not been on the receiving end of a win since November 19th when the Rhinos beat Shreveport. Lehti ranks second in minutes played among all netminders (1058). The Finland native has allowed 48 goals in 19 games which puts him in a tie for sixth in goals against.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Rhinos (F: #22 - Alex Krause)

The Dartmouth College (ECAC, D1) commit is in his second season in the NAHL. He is second on the team in goals and first in assists. Last year, the 6'1"/190lb. left-handed forward played 43 games for the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (16G, 14A). He was drafted #94 overall in 2020 by Danbury. The Calabasas, CA native earned South Division Star of the Week for October 18-24, 2021after picking up a goal and three assists. In the four games that the Rhinos have played the Jacks, Krause has recorded one goal and three assists. Not too long ago the 20-year-old was on a nine-game point streak (5G, 8A). He has not registered a point in his last three games. Krause spent three years playing for The Loomis Chaffee School (USHS-Prep) and averaged a point-per-game (28G, 55A).

Jackalopes (F: #26 - Chris Duclair)

The native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, CAN is in his first season in the NAHL and is already making his presence felt. The 19-year-old leads the Jacks in goals and points. The 5'7"/170lb. left-handed forward has the best shooting percentage on the team at 25.5% (12 goals on 47 shots). The Rochester Institute of Technology (Atlantic Hockey, D1) commit has six points in his last three games (4G, 2A) and is on a three-game goal streak. Before reaching the NAHL, Duclair played for the Hampton Roads Whalers (USPHL) where he tallied 18 points (6G) in 15 games. In 2019 he was drafted #159 overall by Lac St-Louis Revolution (QJHL).
