Lone Star Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - For the third consecutive week the Brahmas will play a weekday game as they prepare to face the Wichita Falls Wildcats on Thursday. Their first trip to Wichita Falls this regular season will then be followed by a Saturday evening tilt against the Amarillo Bulls.
THE WILDCATS: The best team in the North American Hockey League just so happens to be red-hot entering Thursday's game with six straight wins. Their back end has been a high point with starting goaltender Justin Kapelmaster bringing home NAHL Goalie of the Month award earlier this week.
Another notable member of the defensive lineup for the 'Cats is Rourke Russell, who remains one of just ten members from the NAHL on the NHL Central Scouting List. The '98 isn't an offensive machine but he's almost always in the right position and making the appropriate plays.
THE BULLS: It's been a tough go for the boys in the first year of the Matt Nicholson regime. Currently sitting at last place in the south, it's well-known around Brahamland that the North Richland Hills gang has their number, too.
Saturday's game will be the tenth meeting between the two teams and it will also be the Bulls third game of the weekend.
THE BRAHMAS: Last weekend the Brahmas suffered their worst defeat of the season at the hands of the team they'll be facing on Thursday. The Wildcats took it to them, holding them scoreless and matching a season-high in goals scored against with four.
The positive news is that regardless of Thursday's outcome, the Brahmas will yet again go head-to-head with a team that they've already defeated nine times this season.
Fresh off of being named Defenseman of the Month, Cam Clarke is tied with Alex Berardinelli with six points in the teams last five games.
FOLLOWING: After the road trip the team returns home for it's last games at NYTEX of the 2015 calendar year. It'll be another #1 vs. #2 matchup as the Wildcats make the trip for what should be another classic.
Tickets are available by calling 817-336-4ICE, atop your screen under the TICKETS tab or at the NYTEX Sports Centre box office.
