Butler BlueSox News Release

Butler, PA - June 21, 2012 - The Butler BlueSox stand one game behind tied division leaders West Virginia and Chillicothe with ten games remaining in the first half of the season. The team leading the division at the end of play on Sunday, July 1 will have home field advantage for the playoffs.

Butler (12-8) will host Chillicothe (13-7) on June 21 and June 22, and then host West Virginia (13-7) on June 23 and June 24 at Pullman Park.

The BlueSox enter Thursday's contest against Chillicothe riding a franchise record six-game winning streak.

If two teams are tied for the division lead, the team with the better head-to-head record holds the tiebreak. Butler is 2-2 against both Chillicothe and West Virginia this season.

Chillicothe is 3-1 against West Virginia. The winner of the first half of the season from each division will take on the winner of the second half of the season in a one-game playoff on August 7. The winners of each division playoff will face each other in a three-game League Championship on August 9, 11, and 12.

Chillicothe advanced to the League championship in 2009 and 2010, winning in 2010. West Virginia lost to Quincy in last season's championship.

Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday's games at Butler will start at 6:35pm; first pitch for Friday night's fireworks game is at 7:05pm. Gates will open at 5:30pm all days.

Tickets are still available for all games on ButlerBlueSox.net and by calling 724.256.9994.
