Week Three Rawlings CPL Players of the Week Named

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. - The Coastal Plain League announced today that Edenton's Michael Camporeale was named the Rawlings Hitter of the Week, while Forest City's Ryan Tezak was honored as the Rawlings Pitcher of the Week for week three of action (June 11-June 17).
Camporeale, a junior from the University of Washington, finished in the Top 5 in almost every offensive category. He batted .429 through eight starts for the Steamers, racking up 12 hits, including a league-best five doubles and three home runs. Further, Camporeale drove in nine RBIs and scored nine runs, while leading the league with 26 total bases and a .929 slugging percentage. He also featured a .448 on-base percentage and was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
On the mound, Tezak, a sophomore at West Virginia University, had a perfect 0.00 ERA and 1-0 record on the week for the Owls. In seven complete innings of work, the 6-3, 215-pound right-hander only allowed two hits and walked one while striking out seven. Further, Tezak held opposing batters to an impressive .087 average and had a low WHIP of 0.43.
The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 51 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
