Published on July 10, 2007 under arenafootball2 (af2) News Release

CHICAGO - Oklahoma City wide receiver/defensive back AL HUNT, Everett wide receiver JOSH RICHEY and Tri-Cities defensive back SHANNON DAVIS have been named the U.S. Army Ironman, Schutt Offensive Player and ADT Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for Week 15 of the 2007 season. In addition to these three awards, the af2 is also highlighting the player who makes the best catch of the week. The Cutters Catch of the Week Award for Week 15 goes to Mahoning Valley wide receiver CHRIS JOHNSON.

Hunt (5-11, 215, Northwest Okla. State), in his fourth af2 season, had another impressive all-around effort for Oklahoma City in the team's 56-45 home win against Alabama in Week 15. The veteran from Northwest Oklahoma State made his presence felt on offense with 9 catches for 103 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Hunt also scored one rushing touchdown for the Yard Dawgz. Hunt was also an impact player on defense with 1.5 tackles. This is Hunt's first Ironman of the Week Award this season. Offensively, Walker leads his team in receptions (83) and in scoring (174 Points). Hunt, in his third year with Oklahoma City, earned American Conference All-af2 Second Team honors in 2006 and is the only player who has been with the Yard Dawgz since their inaugural season in 2004.

Richey (6-3, 195, Northeastern State) had an impressive individual showing on Saturday night for Everett in the team's 75-49 win over Tennessee Valley. The Hawks playmaker, in his second af2 season, set an af2 record with his 9th consecutive 100-yard receiving game. Richey's 120 receiving yards were earned by 8 catches and led to five touchdowns on the night. His performance landed him at third in the af2 with 120 receptions on the season. He leads the Hawks in receptions (120), receiving yards (1582), receiving touchdowns (38), and scoring (234 points).

Davis (6-0, 210, Kent State) had a stellar night defensively in Week 15 for the Tri-Cities in the team's 59-50 home win over Amarillo. The Fever rookie from Kent State made quite an impression with four tackles, two interceptions (one 50-yard return TD), three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one blocked kick against the Dusters. One of Davis' interceptions resulted in a touchdown as well. Davis is currently third in tackles (53.0) for the Fever, and also leads the team in interceptions on the season (7). Davis has earned the ADT Defensive player of the game award three times this season and this is his first player of the week award.

Johnson (6-2, 192, Georgia Southern), who is in his first week back after suffering a dislocated elbow, earned the Cutters Catch of the week award, a weekly honor that emerged last year to highlight the player who makes the best catch of the week, for his one-handed, 33-yard touchdown catch. The impressive play came in the first quarter of the Mahoning Valley Thunder's losing battle with the Louisville Fire. Although losing 32-57 to the Fire, Johnson's catch was supported by 9 others on the night (10 catches) for 140 yards and four touchdowns. He currently ranks fourth on the squad in receiving with 21 catches for 279 yards and five touchdowns.
