Manchester Wolves News Release
The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's professional arenafootball2 team, are proud to announce that San Antonio Spurs forward and Concord, N.H. native Matt Bonner will be on hand for this Friday's clash between the Wolves and Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers on Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
Bonner (6'10, 240) is fresh off his third NBA season which concluded with a 2007 Championship with his Spurs. The Concord native, who has career averages of 6.7 ppg and 3.4 rpg, will be involved in the Wolves opening coin toss as well as competing against Nancy Clark from the Glen Group in a "Pros vs. Joes" shooting competition during the first quarter.
"I'm a little nervous to compete as I haven't touched a ball in over a month," said Bonner about the shooting competition this Friday. "But anytime I can come out in the community to show my support for a local professional sports team in the state of New Hampshire it's a no brainer. Plus, I'm a big Arena Football fan."
The Wolves (7-6) 7:05 p.m. contest against the Pioneers (13-0) will be the 18 th all-time match up between the clubs. The Pioneers hold the all-time lead, 9-8, and have beaten the Wolves twice this season back on May 4 (59-42) and March 31 (50-36), both contests took place in Wilkes-Barre. Manchester has won five of their six home games on Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena this season.
Lucky 13's will be the theme of the night for the Wolves as they will offer a special $13.00 ticket price for anywhere in the lowerbowl (except the Club seats) for anyone above the age of 13, while everyone 12 and under will get in FREE! Also, the Wolves are throwing in another special twist; if Manchester wins by exactly 13 points on Friday EVERY fan in attendance will receive a free ticket to the Wolves last regular season game on July 28 against the Florida Firecats.
The first 3,000 fans that come through the doors on Friday will receive a FREE Blitz bobble head thanks to the Catholic Medical Center. Fans will also be treated to special "Pros vs. Joes" contests that will feature Bonner, professional wrestler "The Lobsterman" and a member of the Manchester Wolves Lady Wolf Pack dance team.
Fans that would like to take advantage of the special $13.00 ticket price have to call the Wolves office at 603.627.9653 anytime before noon on Friday, July 13. Fans looking to take advantage of the 12 and under FREE ticket can go directly to the Verizon Wireless Box Office. Come pack the Verizon and cheer the Wolves into the playoffs this Friday!
The Wolves game is just one of many stops on Bonner's busy weekend calendar as he is hosting, alongside with his brother Luke, a charity rock show in his hometown of Concord entitled "Speakers and Sneakers" to benefit the Concord Boys and Girls Club.
