WB-35 to Televise Eight Silver Stars Games in 2004

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Silver Stars announced today that they renewed their partnership with KRRT WB-35 for the 2004 season. KRRT WB-35 will televise eight Silver Stars games this season, four home games and four road games.

The Silver Stars kick off their TV schedule on WB-35 when they host the defending WNBA Champion Detroit Shock in their home opener on Saturday, May 22 with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Silver Stars fans will be able to get their first taste of the intrastate rivalry created between the Silver Stars and Houston Comets when the Comets make the trip down I-10 on Saturday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. San Antonio's next television broadcast occurs when the Silver Stars hit the road to take on this year's 2004 No. 1 Draft Pick, Diana Taurasi, and the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, June 26 with airtime scheduled for 9:00 p.m. The Silver Stars wrap up the first half of their TV schedule in Los Angeles taking on Lisa Leslie and the Sparks on Friday, July 2 at 9:30 p.m.

San Antonio will kick off the second half of their TV schedule on the road when they make the trip to Seattle to face off with the 2003 WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson and the Storm on July 9 at 9:00 p.m. Fans can catch the Silver Stars back in action again on WB-35 when San Antonio hosts the Sparks in the last game before the Olympic break on Saturday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. San Antonio's first game back from the Olympic break will be televised when the Silver Stars return to Los Angeles to close out the regular season series with the Sparks on Wednesday, September 1 at 9:30 p.m. The Silver Stars conclude their regular season TV schedule taking on the Sacramento Monarchs at home on Saturday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m.

"The Silver Stars are excited to be pairing up with WB-35 for the second straight season," Mike Kickirillo, Spurs Sports & Entertainment's Director of Broadcasting said. "We want to give Silver Stars fans the chance to see the team go up against some of the best competition the WNBA has to offer. WB-35 did a great job last season with their broadcasts of the Silver Stars games and we believe this year will be even better."

The "Voice of the Silver Stars" Andrew Monaco will handle the play-by-play action during the broadcasts while Fran Harris returns for her second season to provide color commentary. Terry Stembridge, Jr. will fill in for Monaco to call the games on the Silver Stars' radio broadcasts.

The Silver Stars will also have three games televised nationally between ESPN2 and the Oxygen Network. Fans will be able to get a glimpse of the Silvers Stars when they visit the Washington Mystics on Thursday, June 17 as they make their 2004 national television debut at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN2. San Antonio's next nationally televised game will air on Sunday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. on the Oxygen Network as the Silver Stars make the trip to Detroit in a rematch with the Shock. The Silvers Stars national television schedule concludes on the Oxygen Network when they make their first trip to Connecticut on Saturday, July 24 for an 11:00 a.m. tipoff.

Fans interested in purchasing Silver Stars season tickets can do so by calling 444-5050 for tickets and information. Full-season ticket prices are $132.30, $276.30, $366.30 and $564.30, while the 10-Game Weekend Pak (Friday, Saturday and Sunday games only) prices are $83.50, $163.50 and $233.50.

Fans can tune in and listen to all of the team's 2004 WNBA games on Clear Channel radio stations KSJL 810 AM and The Ticket 760 AM with Andrew Monaco calling the action.
