Waza Flo News Release

(Detroit, MI-January 25, 2011) Coming off two straight losses, the PASL's Detroit Waza was in desperate need of a win to get the club back on the right track on Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, the Waza was able to rediscover the winning formula, as they defeated the Winnipeg Alliance 11-7 in indoor soccer action at the Taylor Sportsplex.

"There was no question that this was what we needed," said Waza co-coach Costea Decu after the game. " The team played well as a whole, and I feel that we are now ready for the final month of the season."

Costea Decu and Niki Djokic lead the Waza (6-4), each with a three goal performance. In addition, Miki Djerisilo, returning to the Motor City after a stint with the MISL's Chicago Riot, scored twice, and Rodrigo Gonzalez, Matt Johnson, and Dominic "Livewire" Scicluna each added a goal of their own in the winning effort.

Kenny Sacramento led the scoring for Alliance (1-3) with three goals, and Josh Hofmeister added a pair.

Kris Lyons earned the win in goal for Waza after relieving starter Tony Santilli, who played the first half between the pipes.

Waza will return to the field on Friday night, February 4th, when they will travel to Louisville where they will face the Lightning. The two clubs have split their first two encounters this season, with the visiting team taking the win. The Men from the Motor City will return to the Taylor Sportsplex on Saturday night, Feburary 12th, where the Lightning and Waza will square off for the final time this season.

The Detroit Waza are charter members of the Professional Arena Soccer League, which is starting it's third season of play. For more information, visit the team's home page at www.detroitwaza.com or the PASL's official website at www.pasl-pro.com.
