The Milwaukee Wave have an important road game this Sunday at Detroit, where they have lost seven consecutive games, counting playoffs. The Wave are 6-3 and Detroit is 5-2; the game is for first place in the league as the first XSL season reaches the midpoint. The Wave practice at Uihlein Soccer Park Wednesday 10-12, Thursday 9-11 and 1-3 and Friday 10-12. Feature stories include:

600 VICTORIES: Keith Tozer has 599 regular season victories in 25 seasons as a coach, going back to his days in Louisville. Nobody else is close to 600 victories. His overall head coaching mark is 599-368, with 21 winning seasons, seven Coach of the Year awards and four championships.

RETIRING NO. 13: Michael King's No. 13 will become the fourth number retired by the Milwaukee Wave at the Feb. 15 game against Detroit. Other retired numbers belong to Pete Knezic (5), Victor Nogueira (27) and Steve Morris (11). Kinger is now the director of coaching for the Milwaukee Kickers and was on hand for the Wave's Silver Anniversary Reunion on Jan. 24.

ORCHESTRATING OFFENSE: Veteran Giuliano Oliviero leads the XSL with an incredible 15 assists, nine more than the next-best player in the league. Oliviero is part of an exclusive class of indoor soccer players who have 1,000 total career points, including playoffs. He has 959 career regular-season points, and this season is serving as the Wave's assistant coach in addition to his playing role.
