Wave United takes on Edmonton in final regular season home game

Milwaukee Wave United, the WaveÂ’s A-League (outdoor) team plays its final regular season home game of the 2004 campaign tonight, Thursday, August 19, 7:35 PM when it hosts Edmonton at Uihlein Soccer Park. TonightÂ’s game is a make-up date of the originally scheduled May 14 match-up between the clubs that was postponed due to wet grounds at Uihlein.
Wave United (6-4-3 home / 4-6-1 road / 10-10-4 overall, 34 points) remains very much alive in the Western Conference playoff race as Coach Art KramerÂ’s team is just three points behind the fourth-place Minnesota Thunder (11-8-4, 37 points). The top four teams in both the Eastern and Western Conferences will qualify for the A-League playoffs beginning in September.
Wave United has won its last two, including a 3-0 win at Edmonton (3-8-2 home / 1-6-4 road / 4-14-6 overall, 18 points) this past Sunday (8/15). Milwaukee will be looking to make it a four game sweep over the first-year club, which has been outscored 5-0 by Wave United in the previous three outings.

Following tonightÂ’s game, Wave United will conclude the regular season with road games next week at Calgary (8/26), Vancouver (8/27) and Portland (8/29).
All Wave United games home and away can be heard live on 540 AM, WRRD (“The Word”) with air time for each contest approximately 20 minutes prior to kick-off.
Wave Indoor Home Opener at U.S. Cellular Arena on Friday, October 29
The Milwaukee Wave indoor team (Major Indoor Soccer League) will begin its 21st campaign on the road October 23, with the home opener at U.S. Cellular Arena scheduled for Friday, October 29th at U.S. Cellular Arena. The entire MISL schedule is expected to be released in the near future.
