Milwaukee Wave United News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) Milwaukee Wave United, the Wave's A-League (oudoor) team announced today that it has acquired midfielder Jamar Beasley on loan from the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) for the remainder of the 2004 outdoor season.

The 25-year old Beasley returns to the A-League for a second campaign after spending last season with the now defunct Indiana Blast. The Fort Wayne, IN, native tallied six goals and two assists for 14 points in 20 appearances (13 starts) with Indiana in 2003 following four previous seasons with the New England Revolution and Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer (MLS) from 1998-2001. In 59 career MLS regular season contests, Beasley recorded seven goals and eight assists for 22 points.

Beasley, the older brother of Chicago Fire and U.S. National Team star DaMarcus Beasley, is coming off an outstanding first season of indoor action with the Comets. In 36 regular season games, he registered 31 goals and 15 assists for 46 points to finish second on the Kansas City scoring list, and 12th in the MISL scoring race. He also added one goal in two playoff games. The speedy forward was named MISL "Rookie of the Year" at the conclusion of the 2003-04 season.

"Jamar should be a fine addition to our team," said Milwaukee Vice-President of Soccer Operations Keith Tozer. "We're very grateful to (Kansas City owner) Don Kincaid, (Coach) Zoran Savic, and the Comets organization for their cooperation in this loan agreement."

"Jamar's speed and experience will provide us with more options on the left side, especially at midfield," said Wave United Coach Art Kramer. "We're looking forward to having him on our squad."

Beasley is expected to make his debut for Wave United this Sunday night (June 13, 7:35 PM) when Milwaukee hosts the Seattle Sounders at Uihlein Soccer Park. Sunday's contest is also another Family Night at Uihlein, with family ticket vouchers available on www.wb18.net or www.wkti.com.
