Wave Sweep Player Of The Month Honors

MILWAUKEE (Jan. 8, 2010) - The Milwaukee Wave swept the Major Indoor Soccer League Player of the Month awards in December, the league announced today. Award winners are:

Offensive Marco Terminesi, Milwaukee Wave Milwaukee's Marco Terminesi, the Jan. 4 MISL Player of the Week, led the league with 19 points in four games during December. He recorded a pair of hat tricks and sparked the Wave to a three-game winning streak. Terminesi had one three-point goal, six two-point goals and four assists in December as the Wave went 3-1. He closed out the month by scoring the winning goal in overtime as the Wave beat the Baltimore Blast, 12-10. Heading into this weekend's games, Terminesi ranks second in the MISL with 21 points.

Defensive Josh Rife, Milwaukee Wave Wave defensive player Josh Rife was Mr. Clutch for the Wave in December, scoring a game-winning overtime goal at Monterrey on Dec. 27 and tying the Baltimore Blast with 53 seconds left on the 31st to force the game into overtime, leading to the eventual 12-10 Wave win. Rife, who is tied among MISL defenders for fourth in points this season, finished December with eight points (one three-point goal, two two-point goals and one assist) and three blocks.

Goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra, Milwaukee Wave Wave goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra won both his starts in December, allowing just eight two-point goals (16 points) in victories over Philadelphia and Baltimore. Feenstra, a third-year pro from Den Helder, Holland, saved 26 of 34 shots in improving his career record to 12-3. Feenstra leads the MISL with a 7.90 points against average this season.

Milwaukee visits Baltimore on Saturday in its next action, and then returns home at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 against La Raza de Monterrey on Hispanic Heritage Day. Call 414-224-9283 for tickets or information.
