Last Week's Recap:

10/31 @ Milwaukee Wave 8, Force 5 Attendance: 3,775

The 3,755 fans that came out to U.S. Cellular Arena on Halloween night were given a treat as the Milwaukee Wave won its third straight game of the young Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)season. The 8-5 win over the Cleveland Force left Milwaukee as the league's only undefeated team, while Cleveland dropped to 2-1. Greg Howes led the way for the Wave, tallying two goals and two assists, while Todd Dusosky also contributed a goal and two assists for the Wave in his season debut.

The Force struck first, as Lee Edgerton (0:21) scored on a deflection which snuck past Wave goalkeeper Nick Vorberg. The Wave answered quickly when Marcelo Fontana (3:14) scored off a pass from Todd Dusosky. The Wave put the Force defense under continued pressure throughout the first period. Otto Orf made several key saves for the Force, turning away ten shots to keep the score tied.

Greg Howes (5:00) gave the Wave the lead in the second period, when he rocketed a 60-foot shot into the upper left hand corner of the goal past the outstretched arms of a diving Edgerton. Just seconds later, Matthew Stewart found a wide-open Michael King (5:38), who easily struck the ball into the unprotected Force net. The two-goal lead would not last long, however. Lee Edgerton (7:08) scored his second goal of the game off a clearance from goalkeeper Otto Orf, who was credited with his second assist of the game. Adauto Neto (9:42) scored minutes later to even the score at 3-3. The Wave was able to regain the lead when Todd Dusosky fed a pass to Matt Schmidt (12:55) who slotted the ball into the back of the net.

The Force opened the scoring in the third period when Justin Evans (3:41) found the back of the net. Nevio Pizzolitto gave the Force their first lead of the game at the 13:01 mark. With seconds left in the third period, Michael King (14:42) scored his second goal of the game to even the score again at 5-5.

A Force penalty on Nevio Pizzolitto at the 10:56 mark in the final period provided the Wave with a power play opportunity that Milwaukee converted when Greg Howes (11:47) tapped scored at the far post off a shot by Giuliano Oliviero that initially touched Troy Dusosky. The Wave increased its lead to two goals when Todd Dusosky (12:29) scored his first goal of the season on a deflection off another shot by Oliviero. Milwaukee put the game away when Joe Reiniger scored at the 14:05 mark against sixth attacker John Ball make the final score 8-5. Vorberg registered 14 saves to get his third straight win while Orf suffered the loss in his first start despite making 18 saves.

11/1 @ Cleveland Force 10, Wave 6 Attendance: 8,686

The Force jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 10:16 of the first quarter and never looked back as Cleveland avenged the previous night's loss to the Wave by defeating Milwaukee 10-6. Ato Leone sparked Cleveland's attack with three goals, while Greg Howes had two for the Wave. The loss snapped the Wave's season opening three game winning streak, while Cleveland improved to 3-1.

Goalkeeper Jim Larkin, who spent the past outdoor season with Wave United, posted 20 saves to improve his record to 3-0. Nick Vorberg took his first loss of the campaign by yielding nine goals in 17 shots faced. Vorberg played little in the second half as defenders Troy Dusosky and Lovelace Ackah alternated as sixth attackers in an effort to help Milwaukee try to overcome an 8-3 halftime deficit.

Notes: *The Wave is now 99-33 (.750) in its last 132 regular and post-season outings.

*Michael King's two goals on 10/31 v. Cleveland increased his all-time Wave regular season total to 478. Now in his 11th season with the Wave, "Kinger" has scored a team record 755 points. His first goal on 10/31 was the 650th of his career as he became just the seventh player in North American indoor soccer history to reach that level.

*The Wave's "Twin Tandem" - Todd and Troy Dusosky - has now combined for 268 goals (Todd 185, Troy 83) and 284 assists (Todd 222, Troy 62) for 552 points (Todd 407, Troy 145), good for ninth on the MISL's all-time brothers scoring list. The Marinaros (Hector 1888, Rob 8) are the highest scoring brother pair with 1896 points, followed by the Pikuzinskis (Rudy 931, Randy 725) at 1656.

*Greg Howes extended his indoor consecutive games played streak to 129 straight (regular season and playoffs). It's the Wave's longest active streak, and the fourth highest streak in team history following Michael King (161), Steve Morris (155) and Pat White (139).
