Milwaukee Wave News Release

Milwaukee came into their five game road trip with a 16 game winning streak intact and as the top team in the MISL. The results haven't been what the team wanted, and although both the winning streak and the regular season championship are gone, the Wave looked to end their road trip on a high note, and that just what they did with a win 12-8 over the Syracuse Silver Knights.

After back to back losses in Baltimore and Rochester, the Wave came out with a fury of goals in the First Quarter. Wave Forward #14 Nick Perera got things started at the 11:46 mark, :34 seconds later, #26 Ian Bennett added to the lead. Minutes after that #23 J.P. Rodrigues got some help from Perera for another score. Syracuse tried to get some momentum after a #55 Kenardo Forbes goal, but Milwaukee would continue to own the rest of the first half with goals from #7 Luan Oliviera and Goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra.

In the second half, Syracuse did some tweaking and didn't waste any time with a score from #99 Slavisa Ubiparipovic. Milwaukee would answer back with a goal from #23 J.P. Rodrigues and then the Silver Knights almost ran away with it. Goals from #8 Elmo Marques Neto and #55 Kenardo Forbes brought it within 4 points before time ran out.

Final Score: Milwaukee Wave 12 - Syracuse Silver Knights 8.

The team wraps up the regular season with back-to-back home games THIS WEEKEND at U.S. Cellular Arena.
