MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Wave scored six unanswered goals en route to a 19-9 victory against the Chicago Storm on Sunday at the U.S. Cellular Arena. With the win, Milwaukee improves to 12-6 while the Storm fall out of their first-place spot to 11-6. The Storm and Wave each have two wins head-to-head this season, and are 12-12 overall.

Goalkeeper Jim Larkin fell to 3-3 in his sixth start of the season for Chicago. He made 19 saves, while Milwaukee goalkeeper Nick Vorberg turned away 10 Chicago shots.

Matthew Stewart scored a goal for a sixth straight match at the 6:08 mark of the first quarter, giving the Storm a 2-0 lead. Ian Bennett came up with a steal and fed Stewart for his 16th goal of the season.

But it was all Milwaukee for the remainder of the first half and the start of the third quarter. The Wave's Deco scored just 22 seconds after Stewart's tally to tie the match at 2-2. Deco scored a second goal at the 8:43 mark to give the Wave a 4-2 advantage.

The Wave didn't let up, with MISL points leader Greg Howes finding the back of the net for a his 29th goal and a 6-2 lead at the 9:44 mark. Howes later would add a three-point goal late in the fourth quarter.

In the second quarter, Milwaukee's Joe Hammes had his second assist of the match when Giuliano Oliviero scored at the 6:21 mark for an 8-2 lead.

In the third quarter, the Wave capitalized on a Carlos "Chile" Farias penalty that took place with a minute remaining in the first half. Marcio Leite scored in the closing seconds of the power play to give the Wave a 10-2 lead early in the third. The Milwaukee onslaught continued when Oliviero netted his second goal of the match at the 1:18 mark of the third quarter to lead, 12-2.

The Storm finally found a second goal with Bennett striking at the 9:19 mark of the third quarter to pull Chicago to within 12-4. The Storm's Andy Rosenband also chimed in. After missing a good scoring opportunity, Rosenband made a second strong cut to the net and scored off a Branko Savic assist for a 12-6 deficit.

Chicago maintained some momentum when Fabinho knocked home a three-pointer at the top of the key for a 12-9 deficit at the 5:13 mark of the fourth quarter. But Milwaukee responded quickly with a Brett Wiesner goal just 9 seconds after the restart.

Howes gave the Wave some distance with about 5 minutes remaining in the match with a three-point goal for a 17-9 advantage. For good measure, Marcelo Fontana notched a two-pointer with 1:20 remaining for a 19-9 lead.
