Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE - Calling all artists and graphic designers - we need you to design the next Milwaukee Wave mascot, and we're offering a $500 cash prize for the winning effort.

All fans are invited to create either a redesign of the existing mascot, Brad Beach, or a completely new character. We've decided it's time for an upgrade, based on the following experiences over the past few years:

Children haven't completely warmed to our blue-haired body-builder. The oversized muscles make him less agile. He can't see down, making it difficult to sign autographs or even look down to small children.

Submit two color renderings of your design - from the front and from the side. They should be provided in .jpeg or .gif format and e-mailed to mascot@milwaukeewave.com. Deadline for entries is Jan. 13. All the entries will be posted online, and the three finalists, as selected by the Wave staff, will be opened to fan voting for one week.

The new Brad Beach will be revealed Sunday, March 7, when the Wave host their annual Mascot Game. The winning designer will be our VIP for the day and be introduced to the crowd. Visit milwaukeewave.com for rules.

The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team is the longest-running soccer franchise in continuous operation in the United States. The team celebrated its Silver Anniversary last season, and operates the largest summer soccer camp program in Wisconsin. For more information, visit milwaukeewave.com.
