Milwaukee Wave News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) Five players from the Milwaukee Wave have been named to the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) All-League Teams for the 2002-03 season.

Named to the first team were goalkeeper Victor Nogueria, forward Greg Howes, and forward Joe Reiniger. Forward Todd Dusosky and defender Troy Dusosky, the Wave's "Twin Tandem" were also named to the All-MISL second team.

Nogueira, who was also named the league's Goalkeeper of the Year for the eighth consecutive time (the ninth in his 11 seasons with the Wave), had another outstanding campaign as he led the Wave to a league best 28-8 mark during the regular season. In 28 starts, he posted a record of 25-3 with a 7.48 points against average (PAA), setting a league record for lowest PAA. The 43-year old netminder topped the MISL in wins, winning percentage (.893) and save percentage (.773). It's the ninth time Nogueira has been chosen for the first team.

Howes, a third year pro from Oregon State University, was the Wave's top scorer with 102 points, third best in the league behind Kansas City's Dino Delevski (140) and San Diego's Carlos "Chile" Farias (111). It's the first time the 26-year old from Tacoma, WA has been selected for an all-league team.

Reiniger, a 10-year veteran from Southern Illinois – Edwardsville, finished right behind Howes on the scoring list with 100 points. It was the ninth straight season Reiniger had scored 100 or more points, the second longest streak in league history behind Cleveland's Hector Marinaro who did it 10 straight times. It's also the fourth time that the 32-year old Collinsville, IL native has been named to league's first team.

The Dusosky brothers round out the Wave's all-league selections with their inclusion on the second team. Todd garnered his first second team selection by scoring 90 points (third on the Wave, sixth in the MISL) which included a league leading 42 assists. Troy, who was named to the league's second team for the second time, scored 40 points to finish eighth on the team scoring list; he also had a team-leading 42 blocks. The 26-year old Anoka, MN natives are now ninth on the league's all-time brothers scoring chart with 814 points combined points (Todd 600, Troy 214).

Wave defender Carl Schmitt was also named to the 2002-03 MISL All-Rookie Team. The 25-year old Park Ridge, IL native, who became a regular part of the Wave's defensive rotation during the second half of the season, finished the 2002-03 campaign with three points and 21 blocks in 23 games played.
