MILWAUKEE (May 5, 2010) - The Milwaukee Wave and KEVA Sports Center proudly announce a three-year partnership that will include camps, exhibition games and tournaments at the Middleton facility, along with ticket packages and outings to Wave games.
The Wave played an exhibition match at KEVA on March 27 in preparation for the 2010 Major Indoor Soccer League championship game on April 4, and have scheduled a second exhibition on KEVA's new outdoor turf field at 7 p.m. June 11.
"We are very excited to make this happen," said Eric Fritz, president of KEVA Sports & Event Center. "Our partnership with the Milwaukee Wave will open up many opportunities for our KEVA members to experience live professional soccer. The Middleton and Madison area need this exposure to help the sport of soccer grow."
Elements of the partnership include: * A Wave Summer Soccer Camp at KEVA from July 26-30, with the opportunity to run additional camps in the future * Wave presence on KEVA's web site and e-newsletters, and in the facility with signage * Wave to promote and assist in running tournaments at KEVA each year * A Madison Day at a select Wave game each year
"It's important that the Wave contributes to soccer education and promotion of soccer statewide," said Peter Wilt, president and CEO of the Milwaukee Wave. "We made a commitment last year to the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association to extend our footprint beyond Southeastern Wisconsin. We're happy to reach out to soccer fans and participants in the Madison area through this partnership."
