PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Drew Waters picked up three hits on Wednesday night, but the 19-year-old's output was not enough as the Florida Fire Frogs dropped game three of the four-game series against the St. Lucie Mets from First Data Field, 6-2.

Waters (3x5) started the night with a single, but would be left stranded at second in the first. The switch-hitter would single again in the second and fifth frames, but never make it across the plate.

Florida (17-32, 46-69) fell into an early hole with a run allowed in the first after Michael Peaz's RBI single in the first inning, but climbed out in front with a two-spot in the second frame.

Braxton Davidson (0x2, R, 2 BB) drew a lead-walk to start things out, and scored the tying run on Greyson Jenista's (1x4, R, 2B, RBI) double to center. After a walk by Jordan Rodgers (0x3, BB), Lucas Herbert (1x4, RBI) singled home Jenista from second with a single to right to push the Fire Frogs ahead by a run.

The score remained 2-1 heading into the fourth, but St. Lucie (22-29, 49-69) tacked on three runs to take the lead over the visitors.

Jeremy Walker (3-11) walked Ali Sanchez to start the frame in front of Luis Carpio's strikeouts. The right-hander walked Gene Cone to put two on for Dale Burdick, who sent a go-ahead three-run shot to left to put Florida behind by two.

The Mets added insurance in the fifth on an RBI single by Desmond Lindsay, who then put the Fire Frogs in a four-run hole with a solo home run in the eighth.

Gabriel Llanes (7-9) earned the win for the Mets with two runs allowed on six hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Seth Davis (SV, 2) picked up his second save with two scoreless frames.

Florida will aim for the series split in the finale of the four-game set at First Data Field. RHP Walter Borkovich (0-0, 0.00) faces off against LHP Blake Taylor (1-6, 5.02). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
