August 17, 2018 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa - Ryan Drkulec and Ryan Swankler are two of the 42 players who will compete in the seventh annual USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game on September 19th at Xcel Energy Center - home of the NHL's Minnesota Wild - as announced by USA Hockey Friday.

Drkulec is a forward from Frisco, Texas. Waterloo drafted him during Phase II of the 2018 USHL Draft. He played for Shattuck-St. Mary's U18 team last winter. Swankler is a forward from North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and was a 9th round 2017 Phase I USHL choice. He is committed to the University of Michigan.

Each year the USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game assembles the top U.S. players who are eligible for the following year's NHL Draft. Players selected to compete in the USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game were chosen by USA Hockey in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.

To date, 155 players who have participated in the event have gone on to be selected in the NHL Draft. The group includes 2018 NHL Draft pick Jack Drury, who skated in the All-American Prospects Game last September before leading the Black Hawks in scoring during 2017/18. He was then drafted in the second round by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Waterloo has had a representative participate in all six editions of the All-American Prospects Game to date.

The division of the 42 selected players into two teams will be completed by USA Hockey at a later date.
