
Washington Stealth's Paul Rabil Earns Weekly NLL Award

Everett, Wash. - Washington Stealth transition player Paul Rabil was named the National Lacrosse League Transition Player of the Week following his performance in the Stealth's two opening weekend games. The Stealth went 1-1 on the weekend, winning 11-10 in overtime to open the season in Colorado on January 8, followed by a 13-11 loss to the Calgary Roughnecks at the Comcast Arena on January 9.
Rabil finished the two games with two assists and 23 loose balls on the weekend. He set a career-high with 12 loose balls in Colorado to go along with one assist. He added another 11 loose balls and an assist versus Calgary. His 23 loose balls currently leads the NLL after the first weekend of play.
Rabil, a native of Gaithersburg, Md., is in his third season with the Stealth after being selected second overall in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft. In 2010, he recorded career-highs with 26 assists, 37 points and 84 loose balls in 15 regular season games. He was instrumental in the Stealth's Championship run, finishing the postseason with six points (5g, 1a) and 21 loose balls in three games. He was named the NLL's Transition Player of the Week three times in 2010 and was a nominee for the league's Transition Player of the Year award.
The Stealth returns to action this Friday, taking on the Minnesota Swarm in a West Division clash at the Comcast Arena at Everett. The game is scheduled to begin at 8pm. Tickets are available now by calling 877-MY-75-TIX or at www.stealthlax.com.
