ALUMNI WEEKEND A SUCCESS     Theoren Fleury and Scott Thomas  were inducted into the Warriors and  Legends Hall of Fame Friday night  along with the Warriors Booster  Club, honoured in the "Builders"  category.  Both Scott and Theoren  had warm memories of their time in  Moose Jaw.  A few great stories  were included as both inductees  received the recognition they warrant.  Both inductees'  families were in attendance and took in the special night.  

Theoren Fleury said in his speech, "I have played in some of the world's best arenas... New York, Boston...  and still nothing can compare to the Crushed Can." Scott Thomas still has many great ties to Moose Jaw.   "During my time with the Warriors I played baseball, had odd jobs around town and even met my wife  here," Thomas said.      The following day the Warriors hosted a golf tournament at the Lynbrook Golf Course.  Both inductees  took to the course along side Warriors sponsors and fans.  Many of the current players joined the fans for  a round of 18.  Seventy five golfers took part in the event.  Current Warrior Chad Suer had quite a game,  taking home longest drive and putt.      EIGHT WARRIORS HEADING TO NHL CAMPS 

Eight current Warriors will be heading to NHL Rookie camps.   First round draft picks Quinton Howden (Florida Panthers)  and Dylan McIlrath (NY Rangers) will be attending their  respective camps come September.  2010 NHL draftee  Kendall McFaull will be in Atlanta for camp.  Other taking  part in camps include: Spencer Edwards (San Jose Sharks),  Tony Honejsek (Detroit Redwings), Thomas Frazee (Dallas  Stars), Brandon Glover (LA Kings), and Dallas Ehrhardt  (Edmonton Oilers).   Last year's roster player Jason Bast will  be heading to NY Rangers camp.  Ryan Stanton will be in  Chicago.  Former Warriors Travis Hamonic will also be in the  big apple, but over at Islanders Camp.  

SEASON TICKET HOLDER BBQ    Join the Warriors at Connor's Park on September 5th  from 5:15‐8:00 for a BBQ.  All season ticket holders  will have a FREE ticket in their ticket package.  Non‐season ticket holders can come out and meet the  entire 2010‐11 team and have supper for only $5.00.  Stay tuned for a few more surprise announcements  regarding the BBQ!     COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: CONEXUS/JOHN CHISHOLM SCHOOL JR  WARRIOR PROGRAM  

In partnership with Conexus, the Moose Jaw Warriors have joined forces with John Chisholm School. John  Chisholm Alternate School is part of the Prairie South School Division and serves the greater Moose Jaw  area. It's staff are dedicated to working with students from a wide variety of backgrounds with the hope  to that they experience success and eventually to integrate them back into the regular school system.  John Chisholm focuses on the Circle of Courage philosophy where students pursue goals centered around  Independence, Mastery, Generosity and Belonging. These areas help meet the basic needs of the  individual and fill in some of the gaps that may exist in their lives. Learning to be successful academically  only happens after these four interconnected areas of a student's life are taken care. 

Students are transported to shop classes for afternoon sessions in woodworking, bicycle reconstruction,  art, canoe‐building and opportunities to participate in some specialized classes. Other special activities  involve canoeing, camping and other out‐door pursuits.  

Beginning in September, the Moose Jaw Warriors and Conexus will be working with Principal Don Hand  and the students of John Chisholm to arrange activities and visits from both players and coaches each  month of the hockey season.   Messages such as teamwork, goal setting, anti‐violence, drugs and healthy  lifestyle will be part of the Warriors plan to make the students at John Chisholm a part of the Warriors  team as "Junior Warriors". The Warriors look forward to working with both these great organizations and  will be kicking off the program in September.
