
Warriors roll over Fighting Falcons

PORT HURON,MI- lang4105 The Michigan Warriors defeated the Port Huron Fighting Falcons 9-2 in front of 479 fans on Friday Night at the McMorran Place Sports & Entertainment Center. The Warriors opened up the scoring at the 10:54 mark in the first period on a power-play goal from Tyler Perpich. Forwards Patrick Gregory and Chris Eckler assisted on Perpichs' seventh goal of the season; 45 seconds later, the Warriors took a 2-0 lead on a power-play goal from Forward Scott Henegar. Defensemen Ryan Trenz picked up the assist on the Henegar goal. The Warriors extended their lead to 3-0 at the 15:44 mark of the period on a power-play goal from Scott Henegar . Forward Andrew Kolb and defensemen Ryan Teal picked up the assists on Henegars' second powerplay goal of the game. The Warriors opened up the middle stanza at the 6:33 mark on a goal from rookie forward Bobby Bodette. Andrew Kolb assisted on Bodettes' third of the season Forward Justin Hoomaian made it 5-0 on a power-play goal for the Warriors at the 7:58 mark of the period. Henegar completed the hat trick at the 14:23 mark of the period. Forwards Andrew Kolb and Justin Hoomaian picked up the helpers for the Warriors.par Ian Miller scored at the 15:50 mark to make it 7-0 for the Warriors. Forwards Tyler Perpich and Robert Mantha picked up the assists on the Miller goal. Rookie forward Thomas McEachern extended the lead to 8-0 at the 16:27 mark of the period. Forwards Patrick Gregory and Chris Eckler picked up the assists on McEacherns' second of the season. Port Huron broke the shutout at the 17:21 mark on a goal from forward Jeremy Humenny. Taylor Pickering and Matt Prigge picked up the assists on the goal. 56 seconds into the third period Robert Mantha made it 9-1 on a pass from forward Ian Miller. An unassited at the 18:29 mark by Falcons defensemen Cole Meyer made it 9-2 for the Warriors. "I was quite please with how the team played, we had 5 regulars out of the lineup tonight and our powerplay capitalized on our chances" General Manager and Head Coach Moe Mantha said after Friday Nights' game. Manthas' Warriors will face-off against the Fighting Falcons in a rematch at the McMorran Place Sports & Entertainment Center on Saturday November 20th at 7:11 p.m. EST.
