
Warriors Rally Late, But Fall to Blades on Saturday

The Moose Jaw Warriors pushed to tie the game late in the third period, but couldn't finish off the comeback as they lost 4-3 to the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday night at Mosaic Place.
Warriors captain Daemon Hunt led the way for the team as he assisted on both third-period goals.
Special teams ended up being the difference as the Blades went 3-for-4 on the power play, while the Warriors finished 0-for-5 with the man advantage.
Ryder Korczak opened the scoring for Moose Jaw with a highlight reel shorthanded goal just 2:25 into the game. Korczak carried the puck through the Blades before roofing his second of the season.
Saskatoon would even the score only 1:11 later when Tristen Robins scored on the power play.
The Blades took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission when Moritz Elias scored another power play goal.
The power play struck again for the Blades in the second period as Kyle Crnkovic rifled a shot over the glove of goalie Brett Mirwald to make it 3-1 through 40 minutes of play.
Jagger Firkus pulled the Warriors within one with just over eight minutes left in the game as he buried his own rebound.
Just over a minute later, the Warriors tied the game with Cade Hayes scoring his third of the season to make it 3-3 with 7:01 left in the third.
The Blades pulled back in front as Egor Sidrov scored the eventual game-winner with 5:30 left in the game.
Mirwald made 15 saves in the loss, while Blades goalie Ethan Chadwick finished with 25 saves for his first WHL win.
The Warriors will return to the ice on Wednesday night when they travel to Winnipeg to face off with the ICE. The two teams will meet for a rematch on Saturday night at Mosaic Place.
