Raiders Trade Pearce to Wheat Kings

Prince Albert, SK - The Prince Albert Raiders have traded 2001-born forward Eric Pearce to the Brandon Wheat Kings.

In return, the Raiders received a sixth-round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.

"This was a difficult decision with a four-year Raider, a leader, and a champion," said Raiders General Manager Curtis Hunt. "We believe this is a great opportunity for Eric. We thank him for his commitment to the Raiders on the ice and in the community, and we wish him the best."

Pearce, a Regina, SK product, was drafted by the Raiders in the second round of the 2016 WHL Prospects Draft. He featured in two games to start the 2021-22 season.

In the Subway Hub Centre last season, Pearce tied a career high with seven goals and added a career-best nine assists in 24 contests. He was also named the Raiders' Best Defensive Forward for the season.

In parts of five seasons in Prince Albert, Pearce totalled 197 regular season contests. He amassed 21 goals and 20 assists in those games to go along with 55 penalty minutes. Pearce is also a veteran of 23 WHL Playoff games as he a member of the Raiders' team that won the Ed Chynoweth Cup in 2019.

The Raiders are back in action for two games at the Art Hauser Centre this weekend. First, they host the Moose Jaw Warriors for the second leg of their home-and-home series. On Saturday, the Raiders take the ice against the Medicine Hat Tigers for their first game against an Alberta-based opponent since March 3, 2020.
