Ontario Warriors News Release

Ontario, CA.  Oliver Binns, GM of the ABA Ontario Warriors professional basketball team announced that the club has hired Brad Wright and Ron Quarterman as their new coaches for the upcoming season.  Wright replaces Eric Cooper as Director of Basketball Operations and Head Coach effective immediately. "I couldn't be more pleased bringing Brad aboard as his playing and coaching experience are some of the best credentials in the ABA," said Binns.

Wright, 42, is as native of Los Angeles, who prepped at Daniel Murphy High School before going on to star at UCLA in 1981-1985.  Many credit Wright for the Bruins landing Reggie Miller on the recruiting trail.  He was the 49th pick overall by the Golden State Warriors.  Wright played for the Warriors, NY Knicks and Denver Nuggets before playing abroad professionally. All told, the 7'0" Wright's pro career lasted fifteen years.  He began coaching immediately upon retirement when he resurrected a 16 year dormant Pierce College program in LA.  He turned the program into a success in 2 years as well as retiring alum and Louisville Head Coach Denny Crum's jersey.  Wright is married to Meshun Wright and speaks fluent Spanis and Italian.

Quarterman, 40, is the Associate Head Coach. He coached with Wright and at Rocky Mountain College in Montana. The native of Chicago has coached numerous high schools in the LA area, including Burbank for 7 years.

Wright added, "We have our work cut out for us. We've seen some of the teams and talent in the ABA and it is very good. But we have some great talent ourselves and will be very competitive."

The team opens November 19tyh in Las Vegas; it can be heard on KWRM Radio and via steaming. for more information, contact Oliver Binns at ontbinns@aol.com or visit www.abalive.com.
