Michigan Warriors News Release

The Michigan Warriors had an opportunity to eliminate the Port Huron Fighting Falcons from playoff action Friday night at Perani Arena, but the visiting I-69 rivals had other ideals, escaping with a 2-1 win at Perani Arena.

The Warriors Tyler Groat (4) opened the scoring just 2:44 into the first period, but Port Huron's Vito Aluia (2) tied the contest up when he put the puck past Trevor Gorsuch at the 5:29 mark. When Port Huron's Niko Coffman(1) blistered a slapshot from the right-point over the shoulder of Gorsuch off the crossbar and down into the net at the 11:48 mark of the first, Port Huron had their first lead in the NAHL Division Finals series against Michigan.

Alex Blankenburg stopped the remaining 28 Warriors shots on net to pick up his 2nd victory for Port Huron, while Gorsuch stopped 31 Fighting Falcons shots in his first loss of the 2014 playoffs.

The same two teams meet Saturday night, April 26, 2014 at 7PM at Perani Arena for Game #4 of the Best-of-Five series. If needed, Game #5 will be Sunday afternoon in Port Huron.
