
Warriors End Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase Games with 3-1 Record

The Michigan Warriors are headed home after compiling a 3-1 record in the Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase games in Blaine Minnesota.
After winning their first 3 games, the Warriors dropped their final contest on Saturday afternoon to the Dawson Creek Rage in a shootout 3-2.
AJ White's 3rd period power-play goal tied the game at 2 on an assist from Martin Gruse at the 10:07 mark. Joey Ferriss' goal Forty-seven seconds into the 2nd period opened the scoring in the contest with the assists going to White and Gruse. Ferriss' goal was his 4th goal of the season to lead the Warriors in the Showcase games.
The Rage got goals on 3 of their 5 shots in the shootout while Ferriss netted the Warriors only tally during the shootout after the game remained notched at 2 goals each thru the end of regulation and overtime periods.
In Friday night's Showcase game action, an overtime goal at the 3:32 mark by AJ White allowed the Warriors to escape with a wild 7-6 victory over the Austin Bruins. The Warriors got 2 goals from Joey Ferriss and one each from James Kline, Andrew Huckleby, Martin Gruse and Joey Sanchez in the game against the Bruins, as the Warriors improved their Showcase record to 3-0.
Warriors return to Michigan for Home Opener. With the Showcase games now complete, the Warriors return to Michigan for their home opener on Friday September 23, as they play host to the Jamestown Ironmen at Perani Arena and Events Center with a 7:30 face-off. On Saturday night, Sept 24, the Warriors host I-69 Rivals the Port Huron Fighting Falcons at 7:00 to conclude their first weekend home series.
