
Warriors Come Back, Defeat Pats 4-2

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats had their perfect start to the season come to an end on Wednesday despite playing a solid game from start to finish, as the Moose Jaw Warriors won 4-2 inside the Brandt Centre.
The Pats got off to a solid start in the game, outshooting the Warriors 17-5 in the opening 20, taking a 1-1 tie into the first intermission.
Tanner Howe would give the Pats a one-goal lead in the second, which stood going into the third. The Warriors would comeback in the third with three unanswered goals (one being an empty netter) to grab their first victory of the season.
Tanner Howe finished the game with two points (1G-1A), extending his point-streak to three games. Tye Spencer also extended his point-streak to three games with his first period goal.
The Warriors got goals from Jagger Firkus, Lynden Lakovic, Eric Alarie and Atley Calvert in their victory. Jackson Unger was also the big difference in net, making 34 saves on 36 shots.

First Period
1-0 Moose Jaw at 16:50 - Jagger Firkus (1), assisted by Atley Calvert & Eric Alarie // Firkus's original backhand pass deflected off bodies and back to him where he tucked it through Pyne's five-hole to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead late in the first period.
1-1 Regina at 17:32 - Tye Spencer (2), assisted by Tanner Howe // Howe kept the puck in at the point and fed a pass to Spencer who was able to tip the puck past Unger to tie the game at 1-1.
Second Period
2-1 Regina at 13:35 - Tanner Howe (2), assisted by Keagan Slaney // A turnover at the Warriors line led to a Pats two-on-one where Howe elected to shoot and beat Unger to give the Pats a 2-1 lead.
Third Period
2-2 Moose Jaw at 5:18 - Lynden Lakovic (2), assisted by Ben Riche & Jagger Firkus // Lakovic's shot from the right circle was initially stopped by Pyne but the rebound went back to Lakovic who shot the puck past the sprawled out Pats netminder to even the game up at 2-2.
3-2 Moose Jaw at 15:41 - Eric Alarie (1), assisted by Jagger Firkus & Matthew Gallant (PP) // The Warriors worked the puck around the offensive zone where Alarie beat Pyne five-hole to give the Warriors a 3-2 lead late in the game on the power play.
4-2 Moose Jaw at 19:04 - Atley Calvert (), unassisted by Player & Player (PP-EN) // Calvert's shot from his own zone hit the empty net to seal the contest at 4-2.
