Dayton Bulldogs News Release
BEAVERCREEK - The Dayton Warbirds and Fairborn restaurant El Rancho Grande have entered into a partnership for the 2006 season.
Warbird Sales/Marketing representative Hector Gonzalez said that the partnership is a sign that the team is reaching out to the Miami Valley and embracing ethnic diversity in the community.
"We are very happy to have a Spanish culture restaurant as one of our sponsors," Gonzalez said. "We want to get as many cultures as possible into the sport of football."
Pepe Corona, General Manager of El Rancho Grande, said that the National Indoor Football League's (NIFL) "Sports for Education" program was a key contributor to his decision to enter into the partnership with the team.
As a member of the NIFL, the Dayton Warbirds take pride in being able to help contribute much-needed funds to education and non-profit groups in the Dayton area.
"I like the fact that we get to be partners in helping area schools and churches," Corona said. "I hope that this is a very beneficial partnership.
"I hope that we are successful as well as the Warbirds," Corona added.
El Rancho Grande is located at 3070 Col. Glenn Highway in Fairborn, and has been open for three years now.
"The benefits of having different cultures involved, it just expands our boundaries as far as getting new companies involved," said the Warbirds' Gonzalez. "This shows that the Warbirds are supporting cultural diversity."
The Dayton Warbirds will once again play their home contests in the 9,500-seat Ervin J. Nutter Center at Wright State University.
