Walla Walla Sweets Release Promotional Schedule for 2014 Season

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Themes are back this season, Sundays and Mondays are all about Kids, and Friday is all about Happy Hour at Borleske Stadium. With less than 80 days until the start of the 2014 season of West Coast League baseball, the Walla Walla Sweets have announced their full promotional calendar for the upcoming season.

Opening Day, presented by Northwestern Mutual, will help kick of the Sweets celebration of five seasons of West Coast League baseball. Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 5 at 7:05 P.M. with the 2014 Sweets set to take the field against an alumni squad of former Sweets players. League play will start on June 6 when the Sweets take on the Bellingham Bells at 7:05 P.M. with a fireworks show following the game brought to you by Northwestern Mutual.

Opening Day, June 5 will also mark the first giveaway of the season and the first 1000 fans through the gate will receive a visor courtesy of Family Medical Center. Saturday, June 6 the first 1,000 fans will receive a magnet schedule courtesy of Northwestern Mutual, 1490 ESPN Walla Walla, and the Union-Bulletin. Other great giveaways fans can look forward to this season are a tote bag courtesy of Holiday Inn Express, a Rally Towel courtesy of McCurley Integrity Toyota, and a hat courtesy of Les Schwab Tire Centers.

"With opening day just a little over two months away, the front office and fans are gearing up for another season of Sweets baseball," said Sweets chief operating officer Zachary Fraser, "We've got a great schedule that provides fans with some of our traditional promos that we've all come to love, as well as great new additions that will truly enhance the fan experience."

This season the Walla Walla Sweets have brought back popular promotions and are making room for new additions to the promotional calendar. Fan-favorite 6 for $36 nights, presented by Les Schwab Tire Centers, where fans can receive 6 reserved tickets, 6 hot dogs and 6 sodas for just $36 will return for all Wednesday home games. Two dollar Tuesday will also return with fans receiving $2 reserved tickets, $2 Lil' Lou hot dogs, $2 32 oz fountain sodas, and $2 Rolling Rocks all game long (alcohol through the 7th inning).

Also returning are Kids Days presented by Community Bank, where every Sunday and Monday, kids reserved tickets are only $1 with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket. Adults can purchase up to four kids priced tickets for every adult ticket purchased.

New additions for the 2014 promotional schedule while include the NAPA Family Feast Night on Sundays, where fans can pick up coupons at participating NAPA Auto Parts for a true feast at the ballpark: A Lil' Lou hot dog, a fountain soda, a popcorn, and an ice cream sandwich for $1 each (with coupon). Another fan feature will be the Fan Zone presented by HAPO Community Credit Union (located behind the grandstand on the third-base side), where each Sunday and Monday fans will have games, activities, gifts and prizes courtesy of HAPO.

Happy Hour and Theme Nights will round out the regular promotions for the 2014 season. Featured promotions this season will include July 4 Independence Day, presented by Les Schwab Tire Centers, Family Feast Days on Sunday games presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and Pink Night presented by Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center.

"Every year we try to create a schedule that makes the fan experience fun and memorable, while still being affordable," added Katie Baxter, general manager. "We've added some new promotions and are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Borleske Stadium for another great season."
