Walla Walla Sweets News Release
WALLA WALLA, Wash- The Sweets dropped their fourth straight contest as they fell to the Pickles 10-7. Sweets had a few impressive debuts from Adam Arroyo, Jackson Lind, and Ben Schulte but it wasn't enough to push the Sweets past the Pickles.
Portland would have an impressive start to the ball game scoring two runs in the first inning.
The Sweets would be able to answer in the third as Josh Williams had his third home run in the last week and his fourth of the year. At the top of the fourth the Pickles would see a bomb from Kyle Russell to take a three run lead. However, in the bottom of the third Adam Arroyo would tie up the ball game with his first homer with Walla Walla. Arroyo would finish the day 2/3 with the three run blast in his debut for the Sweets.
Another Sweet who showed out in his first contest was Ben Schulte who was able to re-tie things up in the sixth with an RBI double. In that inning Cooper Cross would extend his season best performance giving the Sweets a 7-6 lead with an RBI double of his own. Cross would finish the day 3/4.
Sweets would not be able to answer four runs scored by Portland late and would drop game two and the series in the process.
