Derek Bauer collected four hits as the Pittsfield Suns (24-30) took home a 5-3 victory over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (22-29) at Doyle Field on Saturday.
He homered in the third inning and singled in the first, fourth, and ninth innings.
Despite the loss, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' Steve Colella dominated the Pittsfield Suns' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.
Max DiTondo paced the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs at the plate. DiTondo went 4-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.
Adam Erkis recorded his third win of the year for the Pittsfield Suns. He allowed two runs over five innings. Erkis struck out two, walked four and gave up five hits.
TJ Santiago (3-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
