The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (12-17) pounded the Torrington Titans (14-17) on Sunday 17-5 at Fuessenich Park.
The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs scored five runs in the eighth on the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Alex Lefevre, a single by Brice Erickson, a sacrifice fly by Eric Hassel, an RBI single by Tyler Hudson, a two-run single by Hudson, and an error.
Hudson went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs.
James Batton brought the heat against the Torrington Titans during his outing. The Torrington Titans managed just one hit off of the the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his four innings of work.
Zach Wood racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Torrington Titans. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.
Ray Krieger (2-3) took the loss for the Torrington Titans. He lasted just one inning and allowed five runs.
