Voyagers Notch 17 Hits to Defeat the Osprey Saturday

MISSOULA, MONT - The Great Falls Voyagers (13-10) posted a 7-5 win against the Missoula Osprey (12- 11) Saturday from Ogren Park Allegiance Field.

Great Falls struck first with two runs in the top of the third when Lenyn Sosa notched an RBI triple and Logan Sowers drove in a run with a single.

Missoula took its first lead of the game with four runs in the fourth inning on a season-high six hits. Cesar Garcia started the inning with a triple while Alex King, Jesus Munoz, David Sanchez, Jesus Marriaga, and Eddie Hernandez each singled to post a 4-2 lead against the Voyagers.

Facing a two-run deficit, the Voyagers offense scored two runs in the fifth to tie the game. Great Falls notched five hits in the inning, led by Lenyn Sosa and Logan Sowers who drove in the two runs to even the game at four.

In the sixth, Great Falls regained the lead when Ramon Beltre grounded into a double play with a man on third to push the Voyagers in the lead 5-4. However, the lead lasted until the bottom of the seventh when Cesar Garcia roped a RBI double for the Osprey to tie the game 5-5.

The Voyagers scored two runs in the final two innings, highlighted by a Logan Sowers solo home run in the top of the ninth to give them a 7-5 lead. Bennett Sousa pitched two scoreless innings out of the Voyagers bullpen to earn his third save on the season as Jack Maynard (1-1) earned the win after tossing the seventh inning. Andy Toelken (0-1) is tagged with the loss after giving up one earned run in the final three innings on the hill. Missoula hosts Great Falls Sunday for the series finale at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. The Selway Armory Pregame Show begins at 4:45 p.m. on 102.9 ESPN Missoula and the MiLB First Pitch App. First pitch is slated for 5:05 pm with the gates opening at 4:30 pm.
