HAUPT SLAM LIFTS GF

After the Voyagers squandered an early 7-0 lead to the Chukars Monday, Dillon Haupt launched the club's first grand slam of 2014 to left to break an 8-8 deadlock in the eighth. The 12-8 advantage held up over the last two innings as David Trexler and Devon Davis got the final six outs. Trexler picked up his first career win, and Davis collected his first career save. The slam capped a big night for Haupt who drove in a career-high five and scored three times.

VOYAGERS CLINCH 1ST HALF

With the Voyagers win and Missoula's loss to Orem last night, Great Falls clinched the first half title in the Pioneer League's North Division. This means that the Voyagers will be in the Pioneer League playoffs for the eighth consecutive year. By virtue of their first half title, Great Falls will host game two and game three (if necessary) of the Pioneer League Division Series at Centene Stadium on September 6 and 7.

PETER KEEPS ROLLING

Infielder Jake Peter has been hot all season for Great Falls, but maybe never as hot as he has been on this road trip. The former Creighton Bluejay has multiple hits in each of the five games he has played in on the trip, including five on Sunday, which tied a Voyager era (2008-present) record. Peter has scored 11 times, and is now 13-24 (.542) on this trip, which has raised his league-leading average to .415. His 44 hits are tied for third in the PL and lead the club.

OFFENSE STAYS HOT

On the current road trip, the Voyagers are hitting .345 as a club and averaging 8.5 runs per contest. Great Falls has at least 11 hits in each of the six games on the trip, including a season-high 18   in Sunday's 13-5 victory over Idaho Falls, which also tied the team's season-high in runs. The Voyagers are now hitting .302 and averaging 6.7 runs per game on the road, as opposed to .226 and 3.5 runs per contest at home.
