KANSAS CITY - Three Kansas City Comets were named to the Major Arena Soccer League Team of the Week, and two are up for Player of the Week. Fans can vote for coach Leo Gibson or Kevin Ellis for the latter accolade until 8 p.m. ET Wednesday.

Gibson and Ellis were named as starters for the Team of the Week following the Comets' 14-6 defeat of the Orlando Seawolves Friday. Ellis scored a career-high five goals, while Gibson scored two and assisted on four more. Nacho Flores was named to the bench for Team of the Week, as he also assisted on four goals.

Friday marked just the second time Kansas City's scoring tandem has played together this season. Ellis joined the Comets midway through the 2018/2019 campaign, playing in just 10 games. He joined the team late this season, and already he and Gibson have combined for nine goals in just two games together.

Gibson is on pace for another stellar season. He currently sits tied for second in the league in points with 25, tied for fifth in goals with 14 and is fourth in assists with 11.

Gibson, Ellis and Flores are back on the turf Friday against the Milwaukee Wave, 7 p.m. at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
