
VooDoo sign DB Andre Goines and K Eric Houle

The New Orleans VooDoo has announced the signing of two players for the 2007 season. The team has added DB Andre Goines and K Eric Houle.
Goines (6-1, 190, Marshall) is a three-year AFL veteran who has recorded 69 tackles, 19 passes defensed, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries and five interceptions during his time with the Arizona Rattlers and New York Dragons. Goines appeared in two games for New York in 2006 and recorded seven solo tackles and one assisted tackle. Goines played collegiately at Tulane from 1993-96 before finishing his career at Marshall in 1997.
Houle (5-8, 190, Saginaw Valley State) comes to the VooDoo after spending his rookie season with the Las Vegas Gladiators, where he worked under the tutelage of New Orleans special teams coordinator Gary Gussman. He converted 6-of-15 field goals and 87-of-100 extra points, scoring a total of 105 points. Houle was tied for sixth in the league with 31 touchbacks on kickoffs. This was tied for the most by an Arena Football League rookie.
