
Visalia Gets First Home Win over Rancho

Visalia, CA - The Visalia Rawhide slugged three home runs on Wednesday night and won their first home game in eight tries over the Quakes, rallying for a 5-2 win at Valley Strong Ballpark.
Visalia's Glenallen Hill, Jr. popped a tie-breaking home run off Joan Valdez (1-2) with a man aboard in the seventh inning and Visalia added an insurance run in the eighth to make it a three-run game.
In the ninth, Rancho brought the tying run to the plate against reliever Hugh Fisher, but Edwin Mateo struck out to end the game and give Fisher his first save of the year.
Rancho's Carlos Duran got the start and surrendered two runs on five hits over 4.1 innings in the no-decision.
Jake Vogel homered for the Quakes, his third of the year.
Sam McWilliams and Alex DeJesus finished with two hits each for the Quakes. Rancho finished with just eight hits.
Rancho (53-44) will send Nick Nastrini (0-0) to the hill on Thursday for his second start of the year, as he'll be opposed by Visalia's Junior Mieses (2-6) at 6:00pm.
The Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, August 31st, as they host the Lake Elsinore Storm as part of a seven-game series over six days. Tuesday will be Temblores Tuesday, presented by the Art Laboe Show Live. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com.
