Tennessee Valley Raptors News Release
HUNTSVILLE â Tennessee Valley coach Kevin Guy announced Tuesday that he had traded offensive specialist Rodney Brown to Cape Fear for future considerations, and that he had designated offensive/defensive lineman Desmon Baker for a future trade.
The moves come on the heels of the Vipers' 47-29 loss to Quad City in Moline, Ill. on Saturday. Brown was leading Tennessee Valley (1-1) with 13 catches for 154 yards and three touchdowns, while Baker â a veteran of two Arena Football League seasons - had a tackle and one sack in two games at defensive end.
"Rodney is a good player, but just wasn't a good fit for us,'' said Guy, whose Vipers face the Laredo Law at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in Texas.
"I'm always looking for my kind of guy on and off the field. We didn't get the production that we needed from Desmon. In making the trade, we're looking to get better from a pass-rushing standpoint."
Seven-game season ticket packages on sale: Tickets to the Vipers' seven remaining home games for the 2004 af2 season are now on sale and are available for $189, $119 and $84. Season and single-game ticket information can be obtained by calling the Vipers' office at (256) 551-3240.
