Vipers to face Toros

Calgary Vipers News Release


The Calgary Vipers will take on the Tucson Toros in the Golden Baseball League Championship. The series will start down in Tucson, Arizona with Game 1 on Wednesday September 9th at 8:00 PM MDT with Isaac Hess (1-0, 1.50) the mound for the Vipers. Game 2 will take place on Thursday September 10th at 8:00 PM MST with Joe Sergent (1-0, 8.03) toeing the rubber for the Snakes.

Calgary returns home to Foothills Stadium on Friday September 11th at 7:05 PM MDT for Game 3.

If necessary Games 4 & 5 will also be in Calgary on Saturday September 12th at 4:05 PM MDT and Sunday September 13th at 3:05 PM MDT.

Tucson qualified for the Finals by defeating the St. George RoadRunners in a fifth and deciding game last night while the Vipers eliminated the Edmonton Capitals with a 3-1 series victory.

This year the Vipers and the Toros both won three games against each other in the season series. The Snakes took all three games (17-10, 13-7, 7-6) in Calgary back on June 26-28 while Tucson won all three contests (3-2, 14-4, 7-6) at home as well back on July 28-30.
