Spokane Shock News Release
TULSA, OK: The Arena Football League announced today that Spokane's WR Raul Vijil was honored with the Cutter's Catch of the Week. Vijil collected 11 receptions for 134 yards and four touchdowns against the Predators, but none were more important than his final touchdown grab.
Vijil's final touchdown catch - a six-yard grab with just 14.5 seconds left - gave Spokane a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Spokane's defense preserved the win by blocking an Orlando field goal attempt to earn its seventh victory of the season, 53-52 over the Predators.
In Week Eight, Vijil was selected as the League's Offensive Player of the Week. The rest of this week's AFL award winners are as follows:
JLS Ironman of the Week: DALLAS - Kenny Henderson
Riddell Defensive Player of the Week: TAMPA BAY - Erick McIntosh
Nifty Playmaker of the Week: BOSSIER/SHREVEPORT - PJ Berry
Spalding Highlight of the Week: MILWAUKEE - Anthony Ivy/Carlton Brown/Tracy Belton
Spokane returns to action this weekend hosting the Tulsa Talons Friday night at 8. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by contacting TicketsWest.
Live coverage will be provided by 700 ESPN THE TICKET with Dennis Patchin and Keith Osso.
