Tampa Bay Storm News Release
TAMPA BAY - Tampa Bay Storm defensive back Erick McIntosh earned the Arena Football League Riddell Defensive Player of the Week, announced Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum.
"Erick has stepped up and filled in nicely in the defensive back field," said Marcum. "He is still learning, but has the natural ability to make plays and the interception he had early the game against Alabama gave us a good boost."
McIntosh, (5-foot-10, 175 lbs, Florida Atlantic) had a breakout performance in his second game with the Storm. The former FAU Owl picked off the first pass of his career on the opening drive this past weekend against the Alabama Vipers. The interception set an early tone as the defense came up with two more turnovers that enabled the Storm to jump out to a 41-20 lead by halftime. He added five solo and six assisted tackles as well as a key pass break up in the fourth quarter helping propel the Storm to victory.
