
Vijil and McCullough Honored

TULSA, OK: The Arena Football League announced today that Spokane's WR Raul Vijil and LB Kevin McCullough have been honored with league awards this week.
Following his performance in Spokane's 67-57 victory over top-ranked Jacksonville, Vijil was selected as the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week. Vijil recorded 11 receptions for 130 yards and scored an AFL season-high seven touchdowns.
McCullough was honored with the Cutter's Catch of the Week for his first quarter interception. With the Sharks' ahead 14-7, McCullough leaped and made an acrobatic one-handed interception of an Aaron Garcia pass. After regaining his balance, McCullough eluded one defender, hurdled another and dove across the goal line for a touchdown.
This is the first time a Spokane player has won been selected for a weekly award this season. The other league award winners include:
