Lone Star Brahmas News Release
It is only May, but with Lord Stanley's cup on the line, our minds are still very much alive with stick and puck. What better way to feed the hockey beast, than to read about the upcoming and returning stars for your local Lone Star Brahmas.
We talked with head coach, Dan Wildfong and assistant coach, Jeff Potter about the returning starters from the 2013-2014 season.
We were thrilled when Wildfong mentioned one of our favorite players #24, Alexey Solovyev. This young offensive minded defenseman showed all of us the type of cannon he smuggled over from Russia. He finished the season with a total of 20 points, (6G 14A) on 60 shots, with 41 penalty minutes in 52 games with the Lone Star Brahmas.
The next player the coaches gave us the inside edge on is Sebastian Vidmar, he wore #27 in the 2013-2014 season. Vidmar joined the team in November of 2013. Although, it took a little over a month before he was able to put one past the goalie, he was always in position to make a play. Later in the season, Vidmar really started using his body and getting into the more physical style of play here in Texas. His final season numbers were strong to quite strong with 25 points (9G 16A), spending just 35 minutes in the box in his 42 games played last season.
The 2013-2014 Lone Star Brahmas' season is already looking like it's going to start off with a stampede. Stay updated with all your Lone Star Brahma news, trades, acquisitions, and draft information with us were at www.lonestarbrahmas.com and be sure to follow us on twitter and facebook.
