Victoria Seals News Release

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals are proud to announce that Terrence McClain (OF) and Steven Wright (OF) have signed with the team for the 2010 Golden Baseball League season. The Seals now have 18 players inked ahead of spring training camp, which opens on May 8th at Royal Athletic Park.

"Both of these guys are solid players with a lot to offer to this organization," said Seals Field Manager Bret Boone. "Terrence is an Independent baseball veteran, while Steven really impressed at the GBL Tryout Camp and has earned a shot here in Victoria."

McClain was acquired by the Seals in a trade with the Amarillo Dillas of the United League in exchange for a player to be named later. The Paris, Tennessee product is set to enter his seventh year of professional baseball, including a stint with the Fullerton (Orange County) Flyers in 2005. McClain was also a standout with the Northern League's Edmonton Cracker-Cats in 2007. He posted an impressive .341 batting average to go with 12 stolen bases last season.

Wright, who made his professional debut with the Golden Baseball League's St. George RoadRunners in 2007, signs with the Seals for his fourth season of Independent baseball. The Henderson, Nevada native spent last season with the Alexandria Aces of the Continental League, where he finished with a .288 batting average and a career-high 16 stolen bases.

The 2010 Victoria Seals season kicks off May 21 when the brand new Na Ikaika Koa Maui arrive at Royal Athletic Park.
