Victor Railriders Defeat Saugerties Stallions, 5-4 in PGCBL Matchup

SAUGERTIES, N.Y.,- The Victor Railriders held the Stallions scoreless the entire game until the bottom of the 9th inning in the battle of the new Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League franchises.

Brock Daniels put the second run on the board for the Victor Railriders with a bases loaded single in the top of the third inning. After two and a half innings of play the Railriders led the Stallions 3-0.

In the top of the fourth inning Aaron Endres led off with a triple and later scored on a one out base hit by Evan Fernandez. The Railriders added one more run in the top of the ninth inning to lead 5-0.

The Stallions came to bat in the bottom of the ninth inning with a come back win in their sights. Pat Dorian (Herkimer CC) led off the inning with a walk and Cole Clifton (Wayne State University) followed with a single. Pinch Hitter Eric Downey (Herkimer CC) loaded the bases for the Stallions. On a RBI ground out from Lawson Dunkin (Georgia Regents University) Pat Dorian scored the Stallions first run. Jack Holden (Lincoln Trail College) came to the plate to hit a two-run double to make the score 5-3. Pinch hitter Dylan Sprague (Farleigh Dickinson University) hit a two out single to drive in Holden as the Stallions brought the game to within one run. The game ended on a close play as Jesse Uttendorfer (New Jersey Institute of Technology) was called out at first base.
