Vermont Downs Quebec in Burlington Finale

Burlington, Vt.-Antonio Burks sank a 3-D three-pointer as the first half ended to give the Vermont Frost Heaves a seven-point lead, and the hosts never looked back as they ended the visiting Quebec Kebekwa's four-game winning streak with a 117-85 victory at Memorial Auditorium this afternoon.

Burks wound up with 26 points on five-for-seven three-point shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds for Vermont (31-4), the No. 1 team in the ABA Power Rankings. Other contributors for the Frost Heaves included Issa Konare, who scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and registered six steals; Brett Gravitt, who scored 15 points and added four steals; Dokun Akingbade, who scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds; and Dwuan Rice, who scored 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds and passed off for nine assists.

Tim Jennings and Samuel Audet-Sow each scored 20 points for Quebec, whose record now stands at 15-17.

Vermont has one game remaining in its regular season, at Boston on Saturday, March 8, at 7:15 p.m. The Frost Heaves are assured a bye into the ABA Final 8 Championship, which will take place in Quebec from March 27 through 30.

Tickets will go on general sale on Saturday, March 8, for ABA All-Star Weekend at the Aud in Barre, which will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22. In addition, the Frost Heaves will play an intersectional game with the Atlanta Vision on Wednesday, March 19, also in Barre. Ticket pick-up spots for all three events are Allen Lumber in Barre; First In Fitness in Montpelier; and the Flynn Box Office at 153 Main Street in Burlington. An exclusive window for season-ticket holders to purchase All-Star Weekend tickets will close at the end of next week.
