Abilene Prairie Dogs News Release
ABILENE, T.X. -- The Prairie once again reached into the Pecos League on Tuesday afternoon to find their next infielder, signing second baseman Jason Venya from the Trinidad Triggers.
In 63 games with the Triggers, Venya batted .368 with 13 home runs, 54 R.B.I.s and an on base percentage of .463.
To make room on the roster, Abilene traded Angel Sierra to the McAllen Thunder. Sierra, a switch hitting outfielder, was 2-for-8 since the Dogs signed him on August 15.
The Prairie Dogs wrap up the 33-game season series with the San Angelo Colts when the squads clash for the final time at Walt Driggers Field at 7:05. If you cannot make it to the park, hear the game on 106.9 KLGD or on the internet at abileneprairiedogs.com beginning with the First Financial Pregame Show at 6:55.
